My name is "Bud" and my mommy and daddy love me and all dogs very much! My mom is an experienced dog handler and has raised dogs and other animals her whole life.
She was raised as a young girl in the backwoods of Florida where she spent her days tracking alligators in the lakes and rescuing baby turtles, snakes and lizards. My mom moved to California and began fostering dogs and finding rescue homes for abandoned pups like me.
In fact, I was abandoned and tossed out at the end of my mom and dad's street by a bad man who used me as a bait dog to make other dogs fight me. I was in bad shape when they found me, the dogtor said I may have to have my leg amputated from a severe infection. But my leg was saved thanks to modern antibiotics and lots of love.
I take the #2 spot in my current pack. My pack consists of 4 dogs. The pack leader is Jake, a 7 year old Australian Shepherd mix that tips the scale at 113 pounds. #3 in the pack is Baron, a Belgian Terv mix. Baron is a sweet and loyal boy whose k9 dad was a Long Beach police dog. The last of the pack is Joey, he is a small 20 pound mutt who wandered into our garage last summer. He must have got the message that my mom and dad take awesome care of dogs.
But more about me... I am 2 years old and my parents believe me to be a mix of a American Pit Bull Terrier and a Boxer. I am a handful for mom and dad as I was sick most of the first year they had me. The dogtor ran lots of tests and we tried lots of medicine but I kept throwing up everyday. Finally, my diet was targeted and food eliminated; the vet agreed it was a food allergy. I am allergic to most commercial dog food and to grass, pollen, and other things I don't know about yet.
They saved me through their home cooked diet and nutritional supplements. If your dog is sick please try my mom and dad's food. They make it fresh daily!
